Film Editor

Smaro Papaevangelou is a film editor based in Athens, Greece. She was born in Serres, Greece in 1989. In 2013 she graduated from the Film Studies Department of Fine Arts School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki with a Master's Degree. She immediately started practicing filmmaking as a film editor and the films she edited premiered and were awarded in some of the most prestigious film festivals in the world (Morning Prayers, Hiwa, Fox, Moderation, End of Suffering). In 2014 she was selected to be a part of Berlinale Talents campus and in 2018 she was selected for Sarajevo Talents.In 2022 she received the Best Film Editing award from the Hellenic Film Academy - for the film Moon 66 Questions by Jacqueline Lentzou.

Since 2016 she has also edited numerous commercials for clients such as Cosmote, Aegean, Ford and Opap with one of her first edits in the commercial world winning the Grand Ermis Production Award (Ad of the year).

Smaro is a proud member of Blink G.F.E., Tempo Editors and the Hellenic Film Academy.
